Lying southeast of the capital Amman, Sahab Municipality, as a member of the “EU Covenant of Mayors”, is committed to local sustainable energy and aims to become the first Green City in the Middle East by 2015. As a vibrant economic and industrial hub, Sahab has a key location on the commercial route between Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Locally, the city serves as a market place for several villages in east Amman.
