Indonesia – Tangerang Selatan
The city of Tangerang Selatan which established since November 26th 2008, has shown very fast development with 3–4% annual population growth. Currently the share of residential areas reached 56% of the total area, out of the 67% of housing and settlements land use in year 2031.
The biggest challenges of South Tangerang are the fast-growing settlements and the limited availability of land. Therefore, the city focuses on the progressive implementation of fecal sludge treatment modules with the support of a septic tank assessment tool to describe existing infrastructure on household level and to estimate the amounts of sludge and wastewater.
